Wood-technology Centre
Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development, in cooperation with Vukovar-Srijem County the project holder, is implementing infrastructure project “Wood-technology Centre SLAVONIAN OAK”
In the Vukovar-Srijem County’s territory exist largest coherent complex of lowland pedunculate oak forests in Europe – Spačva basin, the most valuable forest resource of the Republic of Croatia with the world famous and recognized Slavonian oak. Innovation and research infrastructure in which research, development and innovation activities will be carried out and where new knowledge and new technologies willd be created that are necessary for the development of the economy and the creation of new jobs, does not exist in the area of Vukovar-Srijem County. Infrastructure project „Wood-technology centre is the project of Wood cluster „Slavonian oak“, whose founder is Vukovar-Srijem County and which brings together 36 members from the woodprocessing companies, local and regional self-government units, development agencies, educational and scientific-research institutions, including Carpentry High School Vinkovci, Croatian Forestry Institute Jastrebarsko and Faculty of Forestry University of Zagreb.
Centre will be equipped with advanced 3D technologies for the development of new products, modern CNC machine for prototype design, woodcutting and woodworking machines, quality control tools, dryers, experimental dryers and biomass boilers.
The value of the project is 24,997,781.16 HRK and is financed 100% by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia.
