Cross-border Open innovation Bioeconomy network (GreenCBC)

Project description:

Main project objective is to establish Cross-border Open innovation bioeconomy network (GreenCBC Network) as a solution to increase cooperation between small and medium enterprises (SMEs), business support institutions (BSIs) and research and development (R&D) institutions in order to create sustainable linkages between all relevant stakeholders regarding R&D and innovation and tackle following challenges in programme area:

(1) BSIs exist in the programme area but improvement of their professional structure and services to help SMEs build up performance and strengthen their competitiveness is still needed,

(2) private sector is technologically weak, resulting mainly from the low volume and low investments into R&D of the private businesses, and

(3) collaborations between private and public sector among R&D actors are few and insufficient.

Green CBC will establish 1 cross-border open innovation bioeconomy network (GreenCBC network), organise 4 brokerage events, develop and organise 4 tailor-made educations, organise 4 roundtables, create 3 types of questionnaires (for SMEs, R&D institutions and BSIs) to understand technology needs of SMEs, technology offer from R&D institutions and current services provided by BSIs to SMEs in order to improve collaboration between them.

GreenCBC main project results are:

(1) educated SMEs and BSIs in the field of bioeconomy about innovation, technology transfer, new technologies, how to write EU proposal and potential future collaboration,

(2) established GreenCBC Network,

(3) increased networking, dissemination of good practices and innovative approaches and cooperation between BSIs, SMEs and R&D institutions at national, regional and local level organising brokerage events, and

(4) increased competitiveness and development of business environment in programme area by strengthening skills and knowledge of BSIs, SMEs and R&D institutions.

Total project budget: 680.529,23 EUR

The amount of EU co – financing: 578.449,84 EUR

Duration of the project: 01.09.2020. – 31.08.2022. (24 months)

Programme Priority Axis: PA 4 / Enhancing competitiveness and developing business environment in the programme area.

Lead partner:

Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) as a Lead Partner will be responsible for implementation of the whole project and coordination between project partners. CCE will manage, coordinate and guide partners in the implementation of the project activities during the implementation of the GreenCBC project. CCE will be responsible for implementation of work package Management and work package Implementation. CCE will develop 2 curricula for educational activities and 3 types of questionnaires (1 for SMEs, 1 for BSIs and 1 for RIs) as well as organise educational, brokerage event and roundtable. CCE will develop Memorandum of Understanding for establishment of the GreenCBC Network and set up a Web platform as a tool for future collaboration in the cross-border area.

Partners:

Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development (CEKOM) as a partner in the project will provide positive conditions for implementation of project activities on its territory (motivate participation of SMEs, RIs and BSIs) and coordinate and implement work package Communication. CEKOM will be responsible to develop 2 curricula for educational activities and to deliver report regarding SMEs, BSIs and RIs in the filed of bioeconomy in Croatia. CEKOM will organise educational, brokerage event and roundtable as well as establish and equip Green Product Design Lab for entrepreneurs.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis (IPC Tehnopolis) as a partner in the project will provide positive conditions for implementation of project activities on its territory (motivate participation of SMEs, RIs and BSIs). IPC Tehnopolis will be responsible to organise educational and brokerage event and roundtable. It will be responsible to deliver report regarding SMEs, BSIs and RIs in the filed of bioeconomy in Montenegro. IPC Tehnopolis will develop and establish a new laboratory in Nikšić.

Northeast Regional Development Association (NERDA) as a partner in the project will provide positive conditions for implementation of project activities on its territory (motivate participation of SMEs, RIs and BSIs). NERDA will be responsible to organise educational and brokerage event and roundtable. It will be responsible to deliver report regarding SMEs, BSIs and RIs in the filed of bioeconomy in BiH.
