VINKOVCI, 15.05.2020. – ROSEWOOD project, funded by the Horizon 2020, EU Research and Innovation programme under the grant agreement No. 776754, successfully finished with a 2-day Final Conference held in Florence, Italy. The event was held on January 15th and 16th during 4th Forest Innovation Workshop and was jointly hosted by ROSEWOOD project, EFI, ERIAFF and other European forestry and wood sector associations. New contracted project for company Trokut Ltd

VINKOVCI , 06.02.2020. – Furniture company Trokut Ltd. received cofinancing of sawmill and sewing equipment in the framework of the project „Development of small and medium-sized enterprises and crafts in areas inhabitated by national minorities“, published by Ministry of economy, entrepreneurship and crafts.

The total value of project is HRK 166.804,50 (100% financed), and within the project, Trokut Ltd. will acquire sawmill and two sewing machines.

„We are proud to point out that our entire product range is produced in Croatia, and which enables us to create new jobs and support local and regional development. We are currently in the process of moving our production facility to the industrial zone in Gradište, where we will modernize production and increase efficiency with new machines. Our plans are to hire more employees and withdraw an additional investments from EU and national funds, which we going to realize in cooperation with the Competence Centre Ltd.“, said Safet Malagić, director of the Trokut Ltd.

Partnership on UNITY THROUGH KNOWLEDGE FUND (UKF) – CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM Enhancing children’s well-being by sustainable school furniture design

VINKOVCI, 19.12.2019.Danijela Domljan, Ph.D. participated, as project manager of Enhancing children’s well-being by sustainable school furniture design, project financed through Unity Through Knowledge Fund – UKF. The coordinator of the project is Faculty of forestry, University of Zagreb, and partner institution is Cornell University, College of Human Ecology, Department of Design and Environmental Analyses (D+EA), Ithaca NY, USA. Co-partners organizations in Croatia are Competence Centre Ltd. for Research and Development, Vinkovci; Wood Cluster Slavonian Oak, Vinkovci and Open Academy Step by Step, Zagreb. East Europe Hub with international experts held a Wood2Excellence workshop with recommendations for education, funding and policies

DUBROVNIK, 3.12.2019. – Within the framework of the international conference Adriatic Wood Days 2-3.12.2019. the presentation of the ROSEWOOD European Network of Regions on Sustainable WOOD mobilisation project and the Wood2Excellence workshop were held as the closing project activity of the East Europe Hub within the ROSEWOOD project ending in January 2020. Organiser of the conference is the Croatian Wood Cluster and co-organisers of the conference were CROBIOM, Vukovar-srijem County and the Competence Centre Ltd. Read more

ROSEWOOD: Project presentation in the framework of Horizon 2020 Croatian National Info Day

ZAGREB, 28.11.2019 – Competence Centre Ltd, as ROSEWOOD East Europe Hub, participated on Horizon 2020 National Info Day organized by the Croatian Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes held at the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography in Zagreb. Croatian Forestry Institute, also Croatian partner in the ROSEWOOD European Network of Regions On Sustainable WOOD mobilisation presented the prokect as good practice and one of the successful projects with the participation of Croatian entities funded under Horizon 2020. competenceNET project final conference held

After two and a half years, the competenceNET project, which aimed to advance sustainable economic development in three countries – Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro – was successfully completed. The leader of the project activities was the Žepče Development Agency with partners from the municipalities of Stari Jankovci and Tovarnik from the Republic of Croatia and the Union of Employers of Montenegro. The project has been approved for funding under the first call for proposals under the INTERREG – IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020 Cross-border Cooperation Program. The project duration is 30 months (6.2017 – 11.2019), and total budget is EUR 670,619.24, of which the EU finances 85 percent while 15 percent is co-financed by project partners.

Conclusions of ROSEWOOD project presented on the conference of Natural Resources Commission (NAT) at the European Committee of the Regions

Approved 2 projects from the Interreg IPA CBC Programme in which the Competence centre Ltd. is a partner

VINKOVCI, 6.11.2019. – On 2nd Call for Proposals of the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2014-2020 a total of 161 project proposals were submitted by partners from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, with a requested budget of more than 200 million EUR. ROSEWOOD Roadmaps and Map Viewer for Targeted Transfer of Best Practice and Innovations in Wood Mobilisation Published

For the transition towards a bio-based economy, renewable materials serving as feedstocks must be mobilised sustainably and innovative products integrated into circular economy value chains. On a European level, approaches to reach sustainable wood mobilisation are diverse, but exchange and cooperation among regions are scarce. The ROSEWOOD network’s central objective is to foster knowledge transfer in the forestry and wood sector across Europe. The network’s four regional Hubs provide a platform for exchange, bringing together experts and stakeholders from the entire wood value chain. Read more
